Kent Melvin Vesterso peacefully passed away December 17th, 2021 at his home in Fargo at the age of 74. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 3rd, 2022 at 11AM at Cando Lutheran Church with Pastor Bonnie Weaver officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church.
On June 17th, 1947, Kent was born to Melvin and Cora (Malmedal) Vesterso. He attended grade school in Clyde, ND and graduated from Egeland high school in 1965. In 1970 he graduated from NDSU with a degree in agriculture. At NDSU he met Brenda Holes from Hunter, ND and the two married on June 27, 1971. They then returned to his family farm near Munich, ND. Kent devotedly worked the family farm until he suffered a stroke in 2016.
Kent was an active community member who served in several water board positions, a passionate Bison booster and a faithful member of Cando Lutheran Church. Kent and Brenda were married for over 50 years, and he was a proud father to his children.
Kent is survived by his wife, Brenda; his children Sarah (Travis Johnstone), Meredith (Courtney Moseman) and Thomas (Katelyn Paulson); six grandchildren, Henry and Max Johnstone; Jack, Sibley and Hudson Moseman; and Thea Vesterso; sisters Karen Hollerud and Jean Mortenson. He was preceded in death by his parents.
