Linda Louise Van Ornum was born in 1949, in LaMoure, ND, to Claude and Louise (Lenzen) Van Ornum. She spent her childhood in Berlin, ND, Gackle, ND, and Enderlin, ND. She graduated from Enderlin High School and attended the North Dakota State School of Science. Linda married William (Bill) Lage in 1968 and they have lived in Cavalier, ND ever since. They had 2 children.
Linda was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) in 1978.
Linda held a variety of secretarial/administrative positions, before finally retiring from Farmers Union Oil Co. in Cavalier.
Linda and Bill enjoyed car shows and car cruises together, as well as visits with family and friends. Over the years, her quality of life had deteriorated due to MS and for the last several years, she was mostly homebound. Throughout all the years, her faith remained constant and never wavered. She lived each day as best she was able.
Linda will be deeply missed by her husband of 53 years, Bill; children, Bill Lage of Minnetonka, MN, and Melanie (Patrick) Johnson of Bismarck; daughter-in-law Heather Lage, Plymouth, MN; grandchildren, Austin and Megan Lage, and Noah, Mya, Emma, and Eli Johnson; siblings, Clarence Van Ornum, Lakeville, MN, Ruth (Ernie) Jesz, Bismarck, ND, and Ronald (Phyllis) Van Ornum, Augusta, GA; brothers-in-law Leo (Judy) Lage, Cavalier, ND, Roger (Lynn) Lage, Colorado Springs, CO and Ron DeMann, St. Paul, MN; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Claude and Louise; grandson, William (Will) Christopher Lage; sister Cleola Sauter; brothers, Donald Van Ornum and Raymond Van Ornum; sisters-in-law Yong Van Ornum and Mary DeMann; and brother-in-law Jim Rausch.
