Lorene Whitesides Larson, age 104 of Park River, ND passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2022 at the Park River Good Samaritan Center.
Lorene Whitesides was born January 23, 1918 in rural Bartlett, ND the daughter of the late George W. and Anna Marie (Schroeder) Whitesides. She attended rural school there and graduated from Lakota High School. Lorene attended the University of North Dakota and received her Law Degree. She moved to Park River in 1942 and started working for a lawyer. She later took over the practice and practiced law in Park River for over 50 years. She was united in marriage to James Larson in Park River. Lorene moved to the Good Samaritan Center in September of 2015.
Lorene was a long-time member of the Park River Federated Church. She was active in the Ladies Aid, AAUW, North Dakota Bar Association and served as the Magistrate for the City of Park River for a number of years. Lorene survived two pandemic’s the 1918 Flu and the Covid-19 pandemic.
She is survived by her son William J. (Jeannette) Larson, Park River, ND. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Thomas, infant son, John Robert and her siblings.
Funeral services will be Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 2:00 PM at the Federated Church, Park River, ND. Visitation will be Thursday for one hour prior to the service in the church. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Park River, ND.
