
Louise B. Hartl, 99, of Cando, ND, passed away on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at Towner County Medical Center in Cando. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cando with Fr. Daniel Musgrave, celebrant, on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 11:00am. The visitation will be on Friday, April 30, 2021 from 3pm to 5pm with a 4:45pm rosary and 5:00pm vigil service at the Dunnigan-Dix Funeral Home in Cando. The visitation will take place on Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church. The burial will take place at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Cando following the service. Music will be provided by Gladys Fluge and the Sacred Heart Choir. Casket bearers will be Brad Evans, Vern Metzger, Sean Stam, Sam Peters, Bill Hartl, Terry Hartl and Bill Hoffman.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or Towner County Medical Center.

Louise was the daughter of Anna (Bonn) and Edwin Knapp born April 28, 1921 at Devils Lake, ND. Louise attended school in Agate, ND while living with her grandparents, Martha and Fred Bonn. Louise was united in marriage to Frank Hartl in Bisbee, ND on September 26th 1939. The couple settled in Cando ND and farmed in the area until retiring in 1989.
Louise was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church; an active member of Christian Mothers, and Queen Mother of Red Hats.
Louise thoroughly loved life, from long trips with her late husband, Frank, to short adventures to Casino’s with her long-time accomplice Bernice. The two were often called “Thelma and Louise” from the classic movie.
Louise loved God, family, and life; she will be fondly remembered by all who would see her driving around town in her little red ford.
Louise is survived by two Daughters; Charlotte (Vernon) of Cave Creek AZ; Sandra (Sam) of Phoenix AZ. Two Grand Children Jennifer Stam (Sean) and Brad Evans (Kayla). Three Great Grandchildren: Payton Stam, Addisyn Stam, and Grant Evans; and several nieces and nephews.
Louise was preceded in death by her late husband Frank, her mother and father, and many members of her large extended family.
