Lowell Robert Hart was born July 4, 1958 in St. Paul, MN, the son of the late Leslie “Bob” and Arlett (Kjos) Hart. He grew up and attended school in Grafton, ND graduating in 1976. Lowell enlisted in the United States Army the day after graduation and served with B Company 299th Engineers in Anchorage, Alaska. He was discharged in May of 1980. He attended NDSU and Moorhead State College graduating with a Bachelor’s in Accounting. He moved to Minneapolis and worked for a dental company, North American Van Lines and Wiley’s trucking. He moved to Grafton and worked with his father at Hart Machine. When the shop closed, Lowell moved to Bismarck and worked as a parts man for Inland Parts Service. In 2009 he moved to Fargo and was parts manager for Drayton Foods where he worked until his death.
Lowell was a very simple, private and quiet individual. He loved his family and was a voracious reader.
He is survived by his siblings: Louan Fee, Moorhead, MN; Larae (Dave) Osowski, Leah (Barry) Kingsbury and Leon (Sherrie) Hart, all of Grafton, ND; Lori (Randy) Horner, Nashville, TN; six nephews and six nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Daryl Fee.
Memorial services will be Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 10:30 A.M. at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, Grafton, ND. Visitation will be Saturday for one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be at Grafton Lutheran Cemetery. Military rites will be provided by the Grafton American Legion and the North Dakota National Guard Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church.
