Lowell Vernet Anderson was born January 10th, 1942 in Grafton, ND to parents Loren and Irene (Larson) Anderson. He graduated from Grafton Central High School in 1960. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army in 1961. He was stationed in Germany training as a motion picture combat photographer in the 3rd Armored Division with an honorable discharge in 1964.
Lowell received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1978 at Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara, CA. He was a very skilled photographer, from underwater to agricultural aerial infrared. He later opened a photography studio in Park River, ND.
He welcomed a son, Paul in 1967 and a daughter, Gretchen in 1970 with his first wife, Mary Lou Dietrich.
He married his wife of 39 years, Brenda Bjornstad on December 23, 1983, welcoming a daughter, Amanda in 1985.
In later years, he worked as a shipwright and carpenter at the Seattle/Tacoma Shipyard in Washington state, The Pembina Bus Plant in Pembina, ND and after retirement in 2003 a part time crop insurance adjuster.
He enjoyed hunting, history, movies, reading, politics, carpentry and boat building, making his own cedar strip canoe.
Lowell was a loyal friend and husband, a gentle giant, had an infectious laugh, dry sense of humor and beautiful singing voice.
He loved his children and family very much and will be dearly missed.
Lowell is survived by his wife Brenda, son Paul (Shelley) Anderson of Bend, OR, daughters Gretchen (Tim) Kupelian of Bend, OR, and Amanda Anderson of Thief River Falls, MN, brother Loren (Linda) Anderson, Jr. of Enumclaw, WA, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Lowell is preceded in death by his parents Loren Sr. and Irene, grandparents, Paul and Lulu Anderson and Ole and Mabel Larson.
