For many years Margie worked tirelessly on the family farm, where she was responsible for milking cows every morning and every night (often enlisting help from the kids), while also making meals for the farm workers and family, running to town for parts, and managing all aspects of the farm business. She later held a variety of positions in Rolla and Rolette. In her retirement, Margie enjoyed cooking and baking for friends and family, attending daily Mass, getting together for coffee or lunch with her many friends, and the occasional trip to play Bingo or to the casino. She was the best friend, Mom and sister, generous with her time, talent, treasure and always-practical advice (“It is what it is”). If you were in need, Margie would willingly share whatever she had - and she was stubbornly determined that you would take it. Status and stuff weren’t important to Margie – People were.
Left with their many wonderful memories are her children Joe (Melissa) Graber, Janel (Jerry) Anderson, Keri Ann Berg (Darren Pollman), and Matthew Graber and grandchildren Brendan and Haley Berg, Tanner Anderson, Ivy and Levi Graber all of Rolette; sisters Skip Schlenk (Jay Griffin) of Nixa MO and Terri (Paul) Clark of Grand Forks; sister-in-law Joyce Bushaw of Cypress TX, brother-in-law Roger (Diane) Heilman of West Fargo, and former son-in-law Don Berg of Rolette.
In addition to her parents, Margie was preceded in death by her brother John, sister Marie Heilman and brother-in-law Bob Schlenk.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 7th at Sacred Heart Church in Rolette, with a Vigil service at 7:00 p.m. on the 6th, also at the church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, rural Rolette ND.
