Margie Ann was born in Cando ND on August 20th, 1960, the daughter of Marie (Gartner) and Henry Timm. She was raised on the family farm near Egeland ND, went to school for a time in Egeland. The family moved to Hampden ND where she attended school, graduating in 1979.
She met the love of her life, Tom Hoffarth, at Yak (Ladakh) Camp in Nekoma, ND where they both worked. Within a year they married on August 16th, 1980. They started their life together in Langdon ND. She was a stay-at-home mom with their daughters Leann and Jessica. In 92’ they moved to Devils Lake where they remained and lived a fun filled life till present time.
After moving to Devils Lake Marge worked at the Lutheran home for many years till, she decided to change it up and worked for many years at Senior Meals and Services. The last 9 years she worked full time alongside her daughter Leann and granddaughter Cali at Leann’s Daycare. She loved working with kids and thought of them as family. She found it important to grow a special bond with them and loved making them little crotched gifts at holidays.
Margie was a devoted Catholic who spent a lot of time in prayer. She found a great deal of comfort in the promises of her Lord and Savior. She was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Gerard’s Circle, and a Eucharistic Adorer.
She was preceded in death by her father Henry, mother Marie, brother Kenneth Timm, sister Carol Ann Timm, in-laws Romeo and Mabel Hoffarth, brothers-in-law Marvin Tohm and Greg Hoffarth.
Her loving family include her husband Tom Hoffarth, daughter Leann (Hoffarth) Ohlson and her husband Eric, daughter Jessica Hoffarth and fiancé Cody Mertens; Eric and Leann’s 3 children, Cali, Aleksi and Kai Ohlson and Cali’s boyfriend Dominic Ebertz- whom she already considered a grandson; siblings Mike “Butch” (Daisy) Timm, Garrison MN, Sherry (Duane) Mann, Grand Junction AZ, Leona “Tootsie” Tohm, Hereford, TX and June “Dolly” Timm, Sea Tac WA and many beloved nieces and nephews
Among the many things she loved were crocheting- especially making things for all her loved ones. Margie was a talented crafter and perfectionist. She believed if you do something, do it right. She loved making things to give to others. She left many handmade Christmas gifts behind. She recently began making beautiful things with her Cricut. Margie found time to make extra special birthday cakes for her grandchildren, and loved to cook for family, as well as garden.
She loved spending time with her family. Especially her three grandkids. They were the light of her life. She loved to travel with her husband, children, and grandkids as often as possible. She especially liked being close to the ocean, always ready for the next adventure. She loved to listen to books on tape, go to her grandkid’s events, and loved spending time with her three fur babies Pablo, Eleanor and Rowdy.
Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Monday, November 29, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, November 30th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Very Reverend C.F. Wilhelm celebrating the Mass.
