
Mark Alan Paulson, 65, of Cando, ND, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2022, at his home after a long battle with cancer. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 5, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Cando Lutheran Church with Pastor Bonnie Weaver officiating. The visitation will take place on Thursday, August 4, 2022 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service at the Cando Lutheran Church and on Friday for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. The burial will take place at the Devils Lake Cemetery in Devils Lake, ND. Casket bearers will be Donnie Tostenson, Rudi Bloomquist, Keith Nielson, Dan Kraft, Samuel McClure and Greg Skjerva. Honorary bearers will be the Starkweather Fire Department & 1st Responders.

Mark Paulson was born on March 5, 1957 to Melvin and Beverly (Lee) Paulson. He attended school in Devils Lake graduating from the Devils Lake High School Class of 1975. He was the youngest of 3 children, Kenny (JoAnn) and Doug. He married Deb Frank and they had 3 children. Mark married Danita Fandrich after she proposed to him on March 7, 2011 in Cando.
Mark worked various jobs including John Deere in Devils Lake, Devils Lake Equipment, Honda Shop at Lake Chevy, Frank Peyerl Trucking, Bruce Teubner, Towner County, and Troy Pecka Trucking which he loved because Danita was able to be with him. Mark broke his back on March 18, 2019 and couldn’t truck anymore.
He liked welding, traveling, spending time with his kids, grandchildren, and his dog, Luna. Mark also loved working with the Fire Department in Starkweather.
Mark is survived by his wife, Danita of Cando; children, Sara (Derrick), Candi, Darren (Nikki), Scott (Mindy), Jamie (Eric), LaDonna (Kyle), Malloree (Pat), Derrick (Ashley), Geoffrey (Brittany), Mikey Givens, and Julia. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Brandy, Lexi, Dawson, David, Jayden, Braeley, Lylah, Tucker, Glenn, Audrey, Shelby, Shayla, Brynlee, Hayden, Jocey, Zoee, Zoey, MaKayla, Derrick II, Dwayne, Caleb, Alivia, Anabell, Dean, and Samuel; great-grandchildren, Bentley and Annabelle; father-in-law, Arnold (Loretta). He is also survived by his brothers, Kenny (JoAnn) and Doug, (siblings from another mother) Deb, Donna, Dean, and Danette; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; Carol Frandrich (another mother); sister-in-law Doreen; nephew, Hans; and granddaughter, Chloe.
