Mark C. Drevecky was born July 10, 1951, in Grafton, ND, the son of Marvin and Edith (Grove) Drevecky. He was raised on a farm in Adams and attended & graduated from Adams School, class of 1969 as Salutatorian. Mark attended college at North Dakota State University graduating with a degree in mechanical engineering. During college he joined ROTC and was commissioned as second lieutenant. During his time in the Air Force, he was stationed in Maine and did a remote assignment in Shemya Island, Alaska. After an honorable discharge as First Lieutenant, he returned to Adams, ND in 1975 to pursue his love of farming.
Mark met his wife Sandy Bjorlin and they united in marriage on September 19, 1987, in Donnelly, MN. Mark & Sandy moved to the family farm after they were married and ran the dairy farm until 1996. Mark then worked at Farmers Union Oil Company/CHS until he retired in 2017.
Mark was dedicated to family, church, and community. He gave freely of his time and talents wherever needed. He especially loved helping neighbors and family with farming whenever he could. He was an active member of Adams Mountain Lutheran Church, served on the church council as a long-time treasurer, and was a lay minster. Mark was proud of his service to his country and was the Commander of the Adams American Legion; he also served on the Vesta Township Board among other committees.
Mark had a generous spirit and a determined will. Even amidst health struggles and battling cancer, he offered love to his family and made a difference in the lives of so many people. He will be dearly missed.
Mark is survived by his wife Sandy of Adams, ND; children: Courtney (Nathan) Metzger, Langdon, ND; Granddaughter Harper Metzger; Mother Edith Drevecky, Park River, ND; Mother-in-law Vivian Bjorlin, Chokio, MN; Siblings: Susan (Bill) Grove, Kingsland, TX; Lance (Marian) Drevecky, Valley City, ND; Seanne Voracek, Grand Forks, ND; Kevin Drevecky, Adams, ND; Kent Drevecky, Osnabrock, ND; Sharalynn (Danny) Koppang, Adams, ND; Sister-in-law, Judy (Curt) Gillespie, Graceville, MN; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his dad Marvin, father-in-law Calvin Bjorlin, & infant niece Abby.
Funeral Services will be Monday, December 6, 2021 at 11 A.M. at Adams Mountain Lutheran Church of Adams, ND. Visitation will be on Monday for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at East Adams Cemetery in the spring with Military Rites.
