![]() Suddenly, at age 76, Mark Brownlee passed away in Winnipeg. He was predeceased by his mother, Lillian Joan Brownlee and his father and spouse, Grant and Lyse Brownlee. Mark was a fun-loving, personable, friendly and open-minded man with many interests and hobbies. He enjoyed singing and playing guitar, was a skilled pool player, had recently taken up graphic art, was an avid sailor and loved flying. Mark’s greatest pleasure however, was being with his beloved wife, Donna Gewargis. He was adventurous and liked nothing more than to hop in the car and take his “heartthrob” as he called her, on day trips and vacations, carefully planning ahead so she would get the utmost pleasure from them. Truly devoted to one another in every aspect of their lives, they had wonderful times exploring new places and revisiting familiar ones. Having recently moved to Crystal City from Vancouver, they clocked many miles over the last year and a half familiarizing themselves with their new home, Manitoba. Mark was extremely proud of his three sons, Jason MacLeod, and Keston and Tylon Barker and was a loving grandfather to Jason’s daughters, Safire and Yemaya. His sisters, Janet, Linda and Donna Brownlee will miss him very much as will his nephew, Marlowe Brownlee and his great-nephew and niece, August and Ursula Brownlee and their mother, Carissa Quadfass. His absence will be keenly felt by his mother-in-law, Vardieh and his wife’s sons, John and Joseph Gewargis and his lifelong friends in Vancouver, particularly Johnny Shapitka and Lyle Gray as well as Willy Dumonceaux of Calgary and Pat Yeo of Crystal City. A private service will take place at the family plot in Crystal City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
