Marlin Allen Bata was born May 12, 1952 in Grafton, North Dakota, the son of the late Myron and Blanche (Zahradka) Bata. He graduated from Adams High School in 1970. He attended NDSU for a short time then returned to the farm. Marlin farmed with his brother, Joe for almost 40 years, helping with the livestock as well as grain farming.
He was a member of St. Catherine of Lomice Catholic Church and a member of the Rainbow Lodge, Whitman, ND. He enjoyed hunting, visiting in town over coffee and at the farm. He enjoyed collecting scrap metal and driving around on his John Deere Gator. Marlin loved to visit.
Marlin is survived by his brother, Joe (Patty) Bata, Adams, ND; niece, Karla (Marc) Haug, West Fargo, ND; nephews: Chris (Penny) Bata, Adams, ND; Joey (Carla) Bata, Oriska, ND; Mark (Christina) Bata, Park River, ND; two great nieces and six great nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters: Bonnie and Cheryl.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, November 18, 2022 at 2:30 P.M. at the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Bechyne, North Dakota. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the St. Catherine of Lomice Catholic Cemetery, Lawton, ND.
