She is survived by her 7 children (4 daughters, 3 sons), their respective spouses, 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and sister Dorothea (Aunt Dot) Stevens.

Mom was born Dec 22, 1922 to Jacob Friesen and Agatha Stoesz. She married the love of her life, Bernhard (Ben) Wiebe on September 22, 1946 at her mother's residence. They celebrated 34 years of marriage until Dad passed away on Feb. 22, 1981 due to heart issues. He was her love. Before his passing, with their growing family, they enjoyed many vacations travelling to different parts of Canada and in the States.
As a child, Mom loved school. Unfortunately, she was pulled out of school and did not complete her education. It was one of her biggest heartbreaks as she loved learning. She even remained friends with one of her favorite teachers, Anna Wiens.
Mom had a real gift for baking bread. Her bread buns were delicious. We enjoyed them. They never lasted long because they were so good.
She was a frequent shopper at the local MCC. Mom enjoyed going there to find new treasures to buy. Her grand children benefitted from her trips to it and always knew Grandma had toys for them to play with in her house.
Mom will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. But we have many great memories of her, which will live on.
A special Thank you to the staff at Eastview is wished. During her time there, they made her feel loved and protected. They enjoyed her sense of humour and cared for her. Thank you for the care you gave our Mom.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Eastview Place. They have been working hard to provide the residents there with good care and attention during this challenging time due to the pandemic.
Mom will be greatly missed by children, her grandchildren and great grandchildren, friends and her many nieces and nephews.
Private family service will be held on April 26 at 2 pm at the Doyle Funeral Home in Carman. Burial will follow at the cemetery south of Altona. She will be laid to rest beside her Ben. Covid restrictions have robbed Mom of the life celebration she should have had. A link to Mary's funeral service will be available for viewing on this page on Tuesday, April 27, 2021.
You will never be forgotten Mom. You are forever in our hearts and memories.
