Michael L. Ramsey, age 73 of Grand Forks, ND, formerly of Crystal, ND, passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2022 at the Valley Senior Living on Columbia of Grand Forks.
Michael Ramsey was born June, 10, 1949 in Grafton, ND, the son of the late Laurence and Helen (O’Sullivan) Ramsey. He grew up in rural Crystal and attended Crystal Public Schools. In 1967, Michael moved to Grand Forks with his mother and sisters. He became a custodian and worked for a number of years at the United Lutheran Church. Ill health forced Michael to return home in 1980. He remained there until October of 2000. At that time he moved to a REM Group Home in Grand Forks. The last few years he has resided at Valley Senior Living on Columbia in Grand Forks.
Michael had various hobbies. These included watching TV (especially Gunsmoke), collecting coins, working on puzzles, painting, playing solitaire, and working on his computer. Mike always demonstrated a creative flair.
Michael is survived by his siblings: Laurence T. Ramsey, Honolulu, HI, Bruce (Kathy) Ramsey, Locust Grove, VA, Douglas Ramsey, Crystal, ND, Edward (Jane) Ramsey, Bloomington, MN, Kathleen Korte, Grimes, IA, Theresa (John) Mlinar, Coon Rapids, MN, and Mary Jo (Ronald) Slaathaug, Thompson, ND; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place at a later date at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton, ND with inurnment to follow at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery, Crystal, ND.
