The Wake for Sambo will be on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at the Crow Hill Wellness Center, rural Fort Totten beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. The procession to Crow Hill will leave on Thursday at 4:00 p.m. from the City Plaza, Devils Lake.
Funeral Services will be at the Crow Hill Wellness Center on Friday, September 29th at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Larry Thiele officiating. Myron will be laid to rest in St. Jerome's Cemetery, rural Fort Totten.
Myron Keith Lambert, the son of Charles Lambert Jr. and Darlene Chaske was born on April 1, 1969, at Devils Lake ND. He attended school at St. Michael’s Little Flower and the Wahpeton Indian School where he graduated from the 8th grade in May of 1983. He also received a Leadership Award of Honor from the school in May of 1982.
Myron was at one time married to Tonda Shaw and together proudly raised their family.
Myron earned his GED from Kicking Horse Job Corp in Montana and put the skills he learned there to use in the various positions he held in North Dakota. He worked as a flagger for a local road construction company, as a Spirit Lake Fire Fighter, in surveillance and management at the Spirit Lake Casino and most recently at Simplot in Grand Forks. Some of his management and leadership skills were due to time spent with Paul Matheny when they worked in the Dominican Republic.
Myron found joy in carpentry and took great satisfaction in creating and building various projects throughout his life. In younger years he enjoyed hunting and playing pool.
Above all, Myron cherished time spent with his dear family and many good friends who will always remember him with love.
He is survived by his children Myron Lambert Jr., Kaylene Lambert (William), and Karen Lambert all of Fort Totten; stepchildren Kara Shaw, Keisha (Peter) Owlboy, twins Vincent Shaw III and Chase Shaw; grandchildren Lillian Shaw, Mitchell Buckles Jr., Marquel Greybear, Adam and Toni Owlboy; brothers Sean Lambert, Marcus Lambert, Wayne Chaske; sisters Janice (Vincent) Cavanaugh, Margaret Cavanaugh, Connie (Ronnie) Rainbow, Tammy (Richard) Rainbow, Bernadette (Daryl) Bergrud, Sharon Rainbow, Jolene Chaske; many nieces and nephews; uncle and aunts John and Ramona Chaske, Millicent Little, Velma Lambert; special friend Charris Smith.
Preceded in death by his parents, adoptive parents Norma and Julius Rainbow Sr., brothers Jeffrey Lambert Sr., Richard Cavanaugh Sr. Howard Cavanaugh, Rudy Cavanaugh, Bernard Rainbow, Julius Rainbow Jr., Victor Rainbow, sisters Karen Rainbow and Martina Robertson, grandparents Joseph and MaryAnn Chaske, Charles Sr. and Grace Lambert and many other dear relatives who have gone before him.

Throughout Myron’s life journey, he made countless friends that spanned the years. Although it is difficult to name everyone individually at this time of grief, their presence in his life was deeply appreciated.
