Noel was born on December 17th, 1939 to Ingvald and Hazel (Larson) Moe in Grafton, ND. He graduated from Grafton High School in 1958. Shortly after graduation, Noel began a 60+ year career in banking & insurance at what is now Bremer Bank in Grafton.
In 1960, Noel met and started dating the love of his life, Loretta Windingland. The couple has fond memories of traveling back-and-forth from Grafton to Edinburg, ND to spend time with one another and attending dances on the weekends.
In 1963, Noel and Loretta were married at Grafton Lutheran Church and began their 59 years of blessed marriage. Noel and Loretta went on to have two daughters, Kristen and Kerri, whom they love dearly and saw almost daily throughout Noel’s entire life. Noel stayed busy with his five grandchildren who were the light of his life and helped to keep life busy and fun. Outside of his family and career, Noel made a life staying active within Grafton Lutheran Church and Park River Bible Camp. He also enjoyed lake time with family, reading countless books, and keeping a pristine lawn and flower garden.
Noel is survived by his loving wife, Loretta; daughters, Kristen (Blaine) Peterson, and Kerri (Blue) Lopez; grandchildren, Lysette (Jon) Oster, Zachary (Kaelyn) Peterson, Weston Lopez, Benjamin Peterson, and Carter Lopez; twin sister, Carol Burke; sister, Jean Johnson; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Ingvald and Hazel Moe; parents-in law, Lawrence and Adeline Windingland; older brother, Roger Moe; brothers-and-sisters-in-law, Arden Windingland, Donald Windingland, Joanie Moe, Lynnette Moe, John Burke, and Craig Johnson; and nephew, David Moe.
Noel was a kind, hard-working, and generous servant of God who put his family at the center of his life. He will be remembered for his soft smile, humble demeanor, and his out-of-the-blue one liners.
