Raymond (Bud) Bailly was born August 1st, 1945, to Marcel and Anna (Harildstad) Bailly at Cavalier, ND. He grew up in Cavalier and spoke often of his time spent at Grandpa and Grandma Harildstad's farm as a child. He graduated from Cavalier High School in 1965 and then went on to attend college at Bismarck State University and NDSCS Wahpeton. After college, Bud held various security guard and custodian positions until his retirement. He moved to Arizona in 2010 where he lived for 11 years and especially loved spending time with his dear friends, The Burkholders, who were like family to him. He moved back home to North Dakota in 2021.
He enjoyed collectible cars, watching old western movies, trying new restaurants, trips to the casino, and spending time with family and friends. He was a big kid at heart and always liked stopping by the fair for fair rides and fair food. His favorite holiday was the 4th of July, the bigger and louder the firework the better. He will be dearly missed by all who loved him.
Bud is survived by his brothers: Dawn (Pat) Bailly, Grafton, ND, Richard (Sharon) Bailly, Champlin, MN, Clifford (Mary) Bailly, Grafton, ND, Verlyn (Diane) Bailly, Choctaw Lake, OH, Ernie (Kathy) Bailly, Cavalier, ND, special niece Anna (Bryan) Selle, Grand Forks, ND; many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Leland Bailly, niece, Angie Johnson, and best friend, Ron "Buck" Burkholder.
