Nice Guy: Ray was such a “nice guy.” Every friend has voiced those words. I have to chuckle because he asked me early in our relationship why I liked him. I said, because you’re such a “nice guy.” He said I don’t want to be the “nice guy.” I think he wanted to be the wild bad guy. Some of his friends can attest to that in his early days of college – all kinds of pranks and wild things occurred which lead to a crazy life on the railroad. He pulled a lot of dangerous stunts – then to a wild life in Reno – the fun life – till he came back to Grafton. For nearly 30 years he was the “nice guy” again. Helping friends in all kinds of circumstances. He was a kind and helpful stepfather. He was a wonderful grandfather and the nicest most loving husband a woman could have. I will miss my “nice guy.”
