Ronald was born October 6, 1937, near LeRoy, ND, to Edward and Jennie (Koropatnicki) Carignan. He grew up in the Cavalier and LeRoy area and attended country school. When Ronald turned 18, he served in the United States Army for two years. On November 8, 1960, Ronald married Rosanna Brusseau at Olga, ND. After their marriage they lived and farmed in the Walhalla area.
Ronald served on many boards in Walhalla. He was a 4th Degree Knight and financial secretary of the Walhalla Knights of Columbus Council 4485. Ronald enjoyed camping, fishing hunting, gardening, and spending time with family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His life was centered around family and faith.
He is survived by his children: Roxanne (Wayne) Gapp, Wahpeton, ND; Randy (Bonnie) Carignan, Walhalla, ND; Renae (Jeff) Carpenter, Thompson, ND; Roger Carignan, Walhalla, ND; Russell (Kellie) Carignan, Grafton, ND; 22 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; siblings: Doreen Dettler, Louis (Lorna) Carignan, Jerry (Annette) Carignan, Larry (Colleen) Carignan, Diane (Pat) Melton, Corriene (Dennis) Miner, Connie (Tom) Eagan, and special friend, Cece Kryzsko.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosanna; parents; brother, Melvin Carignan and sister, Rita Zaharia.
