The Wake for Sandra will be on Thursday, (tomorrow) June 8, 2023 at St. Michael’s Recreation Center beginning at 6:00 p.m. with a time of prayer and remembrance at 7:00 p.m. The procession to St. Michael will leave at 5:00 p.m. from City Plaza, Devils Lake.
Funeral Services will be on Friday, June 9, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael’s Recreation Center with Reverend Paul Schuster officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
Sandra K. Jackson, daughter of the late Wilfred Jackson and Doris (Bear) Longie was born on February 20, 1968 at Devils Lake ND. She attended elementary school and high school in Fort Totten. She worked for Brunswick Corporation in Fort Totten for several years and most recently was employed at the Spirit Lake Casino.
When Sandra wasn’t working, she loved to go to BINGO with family and playing dice “654”. She never missed a Warwick basketball game, she loved to watch them play. She enjoyed the outdoors, just walking around the neighborhood, going to the Fitness Center, and going to the casino to play the slot machines.
Family was very important to Sandy. She loved each and everyone of her relatives and dear friends with all her heart. She will be so very missed.
Sandy’s loving family include her children Ivory Black (Tyrell Sr.), Iris Black and Claude Black Jr.; father of their children Claude Black Sr.; grandchildren Jayla, Jason Jr. “Baby Humps”, Javon, Jaylan, Jayelle and Joredae Alberts and Jayonis Black Noah and Talisa Black, Lymanah, LyKell, Lynneah, LyKenyah, Lytrell, Lynelle, Lyrik Redroad, Dorvan McKay Jr. and Mason Smith; her mother Doris Longie; special grandchildren were Jayla Alberts, Durvan McKay Jr.,LyKell Redroad, Jayonis Black and Chaz Ironhawk; brother Victor Jackson Sr.; sisters Brenda Jackson, Jeanette Jackson, Patty Jackson Robertson, Lorna YoungBird, Marty Jackson, Tina Jackson, Merle Botone and Rose Lebeau; uncles Alvin Bear; aunts Dianne Jackson, Anita Bear, Sonya Bear and Yvonne Longie; many nieces, nephews, cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Wilfred Jackson, step father Ambrose "Buddy" Longie, paternal grandparents John and Louisa Jackson, uncle Sylvester Jackson, maternal grandparents Henry Bear, Margaret Jones, aunt Belinda Bear, uncles Solomon Ross, Jerome Bear, James Bear and Michael Bear.
Active Pallbearers will be Jason Alberts Jr., Dorvan McKayJr., Vernell Jackson, Anthony Ironhawk, Shandy Brown, Kyle Ironhawk, Fabian Lohnes, Tyrell Cavanaugh Sr. and Noah Black.

Music will be provided by the Lake Region Singers and all drum groups and singers are welcome to share their songs in memory of Sandy.
