Steven Dale Reck, age 59, of Grafton, passed away Monday, December 27th, 2021 in his home in Grafton.
Steven Dale Reck was born February 21st, 1962 in Cavalier, ND. He was the son of the late Dale Reck, (Pat Reck, of Walhalla, ND) and Julia Reck of Grafton, ND. He attended school in Neche and Cavalier and graduated from Cavalier High School. Steven loved to help his dad on the farm and with the oil business growing up, and was always a hard worker. He was also a pretty good wrestler in his day. After high school Steven enlisted in the United States Army. Later he was honorably discharged from service after suffering with mental health issues. Steven enjoyed working and took pride in the various jobs he had over the years. He most recently worked at All Seasons Laundry in Grafton. Steven liked to make jokes, have fun, and could be quite charming when he wanted to be.
Steven is survived by his mother, Julia Reck, (Grafton), step mother, Pat Reck (Walhalla), daughter, Shawnee Reck (Fargo), sister, Susan Reck (Pat Mattson) of Forest River, brother, Scott (Missy) Reck of Grand Forks, sister, Shelly (Dennis) Froom, (Ridgville, Manitoba), and Shauna (Dennis) Erickson of Grafton, ND, step-sister, Lisa (Andy) Smith, Lonsdale, MN, and step-brother, Corey Dalzell, Evansville, WY.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dale Reck.
Steven was very proud of his daughter Shawnee and his nieces and nephews. Steven also had many extended family members with the amazing support services that he has received over the years. Steven’s family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation for REM, Friendship, Judy ( and the late Kenny) Basher, and Northeast Human Services team members that made Steven’s life better over the years with their wonderful and tireless support and love. Words can not express our gratitude.
The memorial service will be Thursday, December 30th. Visitation will be from 4-6 pm with a service at 6 pm at Tollefson Funeral home in Grafton, ND.
