Susana (Loewen) Rempel (nee Friesen)

Susana Rempel, age 98 passed away peacefully on Monday February 22, 2021 at Salem Home in Winkler, MB.
She was born to Isaac and Susana Friesen in Reinfeld, MB on February 2, 1923. Her family moved to Mexico in 1920’s. On August 18, 1942 Susana was united in marriage to Abram Loewen. This union lasted 40 years. They enjoyed farming, did upholstery and were undertakers in their community. In the mid 60’s they were entrusted to care for Peter and John Harder after tragically losing their immediate family. Mrs. Susana Loewen moved to Stratton, ON. On July 3, 1983 she married widower, Cornelius D. Rempel the union lasted 9 years. From March 2015 until her passing, Susana Rempel lived in Salem Home Winkler, MB where she got excellent care. Cornelius and Susana Rempel lived in Stratton until the summer of 1985 then moved to Winkler MB. Where Susana continued with re-upholstery and started sewing shrouds for Wiebe Funeral Home. She had a competitive and an entrepreneurial spirit and enjoyed sharing the home cooking and delicious baked goods she made, and the many beautiful tea towels she enjoyed hand embroidering to give as gifts. A favourite pass time of Mom’s was going for coffee with her lady friends.
Susana was predeceased by her husband, Abram Loewen in 1982, her husband, Cornelius D. Rempel in 1992, parents, Isaac and Susana Friesen, her only sibling, John Friesen, stepsons, Dave Rempel, John Rempel, stepson-in-law, Cornelius Wiebe and grandsons, Benjamin Harder, Heinrich Wiebe and an infant grandson, Jonathan Harder. She is survived by Peter (Judith) Harder, John (Agatha) Harder, Aganetha (the late Cornelius) Wiebe, Margaret (the late Dave) Rempel, Cornelius (Helena) Rempel, Eva (Klaas) Wall, Sara (the late John) Rempel, Elena (Ken) Wiebe, Justina (Phil) Friesen, Marie (Charlie) Morken, Tina (George) Friesen and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great, grandchildren.
Private funeral service on Thursday February 25, 2021 at Wiebe Funeral Home with interment at the Rosenbach Cemetery in Winkler. Donations may be made in Susana’s memory to the Salem Foundation Inc. or a charity of your choice.
