Thomas Pecka was born on November 8, 1949 in Conway, ND, the son of the late Edward and Mary (Novak) Pecka. He was raised in the Conway area and attended school in Conway and Fordville. After his education, he began working in construction and worked for many years in the industry. He made a career change later in life, working for Northland Naturals and then the Conway Company, drying and preserving flowers and seeds.
Thomas was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Grafton. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Thomas loved to spend time in his gardens and had a passion for metal detecting. Thomas dedicated his life to helping his mother and in her later years, took care of her.
Thomas is survived by his brother: Edward (Eunice) Pecka, Lankin, ND; sister-in-law: Julie Pecka, Buxton, ND; brother-in-law: Kenny Funseth, Park River, ND; several nephews and nieces; and great nephews and great nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings: Mamie (Elden) Lien, Shirley (Gary) Henningsgaard, Viola Funseth, Sylvia (Don) Slebodnik, Daniel Jelinek and Steve Pecka; and nephews: Gary Pecka and Tim Jelinek.
Graveside services will be held in the spring. Inurnment will be at St. Mark’s Catholic Cemetery of Conway.
