Tina Fehr (nee Schroeder)
1930 ~ 2022
Tina Fehr, 92 of Winkler, Manitoba, formerly of Blumenort, passed away at Eastview Place in Altona on Wednesday Aug. 17, 2022. She was predeceased by her husband John A. Fehr on Feb 8, 2017. Mom was born in Rosetown, Manitoba on June 13, 1930 to William and Maria Schroeder. Mom and Dad were married on July 24, 1949. They lived on the farm at Eigenhof for 3 years, before moving to Blumenort. Here they farmed for 39 years. They were blessed with 4 children during their marriage (Linda, Rosella, Larry and Glenn). Mom was involved in helping out with the farm, her large vegetable and flower gardens, dairy cows, chickens and farm animals. She was involved in Ladies Aid, and lots of volunteering at the MCC in Altona. Traveling was a big part of their life with many trips with the family and also MDS trips. In 1998 Mom and Dad retired to Winkler, and in 2002 they moved into Cedar Estates. Mom spent many hours working at the MCC store in Winkler. Her passion for gardening, baking, making delicious meals, and her hobbies of paper tole, sewing, and knitting kept her busy. She has made everyone in the family at least an afgan or two, and everyone a jean blanket or two. Many knitted items such as hats, mittens, scarves, sweaters, baby blankets were created for the family. Her knitting basket always seemed to contain another knitting project. She was a great hostess and make sure that no one EVER left hungry. Gatherings were always a huge feast with everything prepared by mom (Grandma). We will all remember her meatballs and apple perishky that were always a staple at every gathering, among many other goodies. AND – there was always enough to send home leftovers with the family as well. Sorry guys, we checked her freezer, we were disappointed to find no apple perishky in there. Mom made sure everyone felt welcome in her home, and many friends were entertained there as well. We are so thankful for her group of friends that kept her company in these last years at Cedar. They spent many evenings playing games and having “Shposs”.
Mom, (Grandma, Great Grandma) has left a legacy of Love, caring, and sharing that will be remembered by everyone in our family. We will all miss you, but rest in the knowledge that you are with your Lord in Heaven, rejoicing with loved ones there.
Mom is survived by her sister, Mary & Henry Dick, and their 3 children, and their families. Left to cherish her memory are 4 children, Linda, Rosella & Bob, Larry & Wanda, Glenn & Maryanne, 12 Grandchildren, and 16 Great Grandchildren.
The family would like to send a special Thanks out to Wiebe Funeral Home, to Pastor Dean, and Pastor Vic for the wonderful visits and prayers, and the service, to the staff at Eastview Place for your care and support for Mom and the family in her time there.
