Wallace H. Olson, age 80 of Grafton, ND passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at the Unity Hospital of Grafton, ND.
Wallace H. Olson was born March 17, 1940 in Fosston, MN the son of the late Henry and JoAnn (Hove) Olson. He grew up and attended school in Fosston. He graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead with a Master’s degree in education. Following his education he moved to Glasgow, MT where he taught school for two years. He moved to Grafton, ND and taught here until his retirement. Wally was active in coaching youth sports and the high school track team.
He was a member of the Grafton Lutheran Church, Fair Oaks Golf Club, Concordia College Boosters and was a volunteer at the Park River Bible Camp. He was an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings, Twins, Gophers, and the Grafton Spoilers. He enjoyed spending time with his morning coffee group.
Wallace is survived by his sister, Janet Olson, Fosston, MN; sister-in-law, Micki Olson, Edina, MN; nieces and nephew: Jennifer Olson, Apple Valley, MN; Joseph (Andrea) Olson and their son Otto, San Diego, CA; Ellen Widstrand, Moorhead, MN. He is also survived by several cousins and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, twin brother, Walter and two sisters: Lorna and Beverly.
Memorial services will be Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at the Grafton Lutheran Church of Grafton. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be Sunday, July 25, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at the Brandsvold Cemetery, Fosston, MN with the Carlin Family Funeral Home assisting the family.
