He was born on December 30, 1946, to Samuel & Betty (O’Hara) Bill. Wayne was born and raised in Hamilton where he attended school. He met his wife, Louann Sondeland, from Mountain, ND, and they were married on June 25, 1971, at Vikur Lutheran Church, in Mountain. They made their home in Hamilton and together they had four children: Stacey, Robert, Renae, and Troy. Wayne was very active in his hometown of Hamilton, where he served on the city council, volunteer fire department, and the Pembina County Fair Board. Wayne also volunteered many hours to help his community, such as blowing snow with the city tractor and blading the streets with his favorite big red International tractor.
He was employed by MCI in Pembina for three years, American Crystal in Drayton for 27 years, and Dennis Biliske Auctioneers for about two years. He was known for his jack-of-all-trades and handyman skills. He really enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Wayne enjoyed fishing, hunting, collecting antiques, mowing grass, gardening, touring farmland, ranger rides around town, and attending local parades.
Survivors include his four children: Stacey (Judith) Bill of Hamilton, Robert (Stephanie) Bill of West Bend, WI, Renae (Justin) Olson of Drayton, ND, and Troy (Elizabeth) Bill of Hamilton; grandchildren: Andrew, Daniel, Mason, Carter, Emily, and Lily Bill; siblings: Geri Thomas and Kathy Kalis; brother-in-law, Merlyn Dalsted, sisters-in-law: Colleen (Dale) Dalsted and Jean Papenfuss, and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, wife Louann, and siblings: Louise Williams, Kaye Dalsted, and Randy Bill; brothers-in-law Robert Williams, Robert Thomas, Leo Kalis, Allen Papenfuss, and nephew, Jason Thomas.
