WAYNE RODNEY MCPHERSON
November 8, 1955- June 3, 2022
Born and raised in the Sanford/Brunkild area, Wayne worked for a private farm after graduation and
the Manitoba Pool Elevator before being employed by ROGERS SUGAR (Manitoba Sugar Co.) full time from 1975 until 1996 where he made many lifelong friends. When the Sugar Company closed it's Winnipeg Plant he continued on the premises for a few years before opening McWay Industries; a company that provided a mobile alternative to a full-time maintenance staff, specializing in dust collection systems. He took pride in solving equipment issues and setting up facilities to reach their optimum efficiency in production.
Wayne married high school sweetheart Cheryl, his lifelong partner, in 1979 and moved into his family home, where they farmed and raised cattle together for 42 years and were blessed with three children: Roberta (Travis), Ellen (Marc) and Andrew (Kelsey). He would bubble over with pride telling anyone that would listen of their accomplishments throughout their formal education years, recreational
interests and career paths. His love for his grandchildren was like no other, he cherished time spent with Avery, Heidi, Hailey, Emily and Cassidy making memories filled with shenanigans, giggles, ice-cream before lunch, access to a fully stocked 'treat' drawer and as many tractor/ATV rides as they wanted. If it wasn't work that took him off the farmyard the trip would have to include fishing even if it was to Alabama or Niagara Falls. He cherished ALL fishing trips with family and friends, loved to reminisce, and was an avid Blue Bomber fan. A fishing trip with son Andrew and brother, Warren provided many stories for Dad to share, he truly loved getting us all out on the water to share his favorite hobby.

Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Transplant Manitoba Gift of Life https://www.hscfoundation.mb.ca/donate/, or to the Canadian Diabetes Association. It is difficult to find the words to express our gratitude for the many kindnesses and emotional support friends and family have shown us during this difficult loss of our husband, father, and grandfather. We are so grateful for all you have done for us. The cards, letters, phone and email messages, and meals meant a great deal to us as we struggle with our heartbreaking loss.
To honor his wishes cremation has taken place and a private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
