1959 ~ 2022
Suddenly on Monday December 12, 2022 our beloved husband, Dad and Poppa passed away.
Wayne was born in Winkler, MB on April 29, 1959 the second of four children. He proudly owned DJ’s Family Restaurant for 38 years, prior to the sale and his semi-retirement in 2017. Many memories and relationships were formed during his time there. Wayne loved to golf and most Fridays were spent on the links with his buddies. He also always made sure to play an extra round with Shane. He will be so missed by those who knew and loved him. Our lives are forever changed.
Wayne leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Cheryl, daughter, Jenelle, son-in-law, Shane and his pride and joy; grandson, Ripley as well as his mother, Ella and sisters, Barb Wiebe, Val (Jeff) Wiebe, brother, Kalvin Warkentin, six nieces and nephews and their families. He was predeceased by his father, Lawrence, his in-laws, Barney and Eleanor Bjarnason, brothers-in-law, Rick Wiebe and Warren Bjarnason.
We as a family would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the EMS, RCMP and staff at Country Wide Foods for their efforts. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Wayne’s memory to Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Pembina Valley.
