Yvonne Mary Motl, 72, of Cavalier, ND, passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at the Lakewood Health Center, Baudette, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Brigid’s Catholic Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held Monday, July 24, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. vigil service at the Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND.
Yvonne was born June 16, 1951, to Elmer and Rosella (Murphy) Goulet. On July 19, 1969, Yvonne married Clayton Motl. In 1984, Clayton and Yvonne owned and operated Motl Greenhouse & Floral until their retirement in 2013.
Yvonne dearly loved her summers at Lake of the Woods, and winters in Mesa, Arizona. She volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul, and Hope distribution for the poor at Christ the King Catholic Church where she was an active member. Some of her favorite pastimes were charity quilting and counted cross-stitch. She was known for her many charitable activities and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Yvonne is survived by her two children: Jason Motl of Cavalier, ND; and Jennifer Kulberg of Mesa, AZ; three grandchildren: Jacob, Jessica, and Joshua Kulberg; great-grandchild, Wambli Kulberg; and sisters, Judy Goulet, Adele Hanson, Peggy Jensen, and Kathy Goulet.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clayton; and brother, Jerry Goulet.
