Katherine (Tina) Enns
1934 - 2024
Katherine Enns, affectionately referred to as Teen, was born on September 8, 1934 in the RM of Stanley to Aaron and Maria Enns. She was the second child of 7. Teen grew up on a farm in southern Manitoba and attended school in Schanzenfeld. When she was 17 years old, she accepted Jesus as her personal savior. She never waivered in her faith. At the age of 20, she started working at Bethel Hospital in Winkler in the laundry department. She was the laundry manager for 20 years. In 1975, Teen moved to Winnipeg. She took nurses training and worked at River View Health Center on a palliative care ward for 19 years. In Winkler, she took music lessons in the evenings and in Winnipeg she took painting classes and belonged to several art clubs. She displayed her painting numerous times and even sold some pieces of art. Other art interests included needle and petite point. Reading and music were additional favorite pastimes that she enjoyed. Teen served in the Sing and Serve Choir at her church in Winnipeg. She volunteered at MCC and the Pregnancy Distress Center. She always took an interest in her family and had a keen and witty sense of humor. In June of 2021, Teen moved back to Winkler to be closer to family. In 2023, she spent several months in Boundary Trails hospital before moving to Pembina-Manitou Personal Care Home. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 26, 2024. She was 89 years old.
Teen will be lovingly remembered by her sisters Helen and Martha, her brother in law and her many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Aaron and Maria, brother Aaron, sisters Nettie and Mary, brother John, three sister-in-law’s, two brother-in-law’s and one nephew.
